Poems about energy

August 2026

Once they built a windmill so big
The earth stopped rotating

They cut up the mountain
Sent the parts down on rail
Converted the kinetic into electric
Lit up all the towns
But we don’t have mountains anymore

No free lunch they said
But I pick plums from trees

Batteries batteries everywhere
Water the biggest battery of them all
Storing all the heat.
Hot water evaporating
What will it do to the atmosphere

Let’s pipe the ocean to the desert
See what happens
Water is life

Let’s build a straw so big
It’s sucks up rivers from the ocean
And drops them in the desert heat
On top of all the sand
I wonder what would happen
with all that dry land

Let’s build caves into the ground
Protect us from the heat
Let’s plant trees all around
Protect us from the heat
Let’s take cold showers
Protect us from the heat
Let’s wear nothing at all
Protect us from the heat
Let’s bike all around
Protect us from the heat
Let’s jump in cold water
Protect us from the heat
Let’s wear nothing at all
Protect us from the heat
